Energy efficient motors and drive control play major role towards the net zero goals. We are now looking for an Application Engineer at ABB Oy, Drive Products division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain application software for drives including code development, documentation, testing and support. Development is often done in collaboration with the customers. You will be part of OEM hub team and co-operate with drives factory R&D. This is a global role and involves also traveling.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

Developing and maintaining in-house application software for ABB drives (coding, documentation, testing and support)Working as a 2 person pair / teamDeveloping OEM specific solutions together with local salesDeveloping solutions/concepts in collaboration with customersDocumentation of the solutionOnsite and after-sales support for dedicated OEMsSharing solutions and application know-how within the global OEM community

What it takes to Run what runs the world

Programming skills (Python, C/C++, IEC61850) are essentialUnderstanding physics, especially physics of motion is essentialRelevant work experience 1-2 years, you will be trained on the jobUnderstanding of the electrical design and ability to read schematics are beneficialMotion application knowhow and understanding of fieldbus technologies are beneficialStrong communication and interpersonal skillsB.Sc. in engineering or a similar degree is essentialYou are fluent in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
