Job Overview:
Occupational therapist, OT, will help members, adults with brain injury, improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environment. The Occupational Therapist promotes member centered practice throughout the assessment and intervention process to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living skills of Opportunity Project members with physical and or cognitive deficits resulting from their brain injuries. Interventions focus mainly on adapting the environment, modifying the task, teaching new skills, and educating the member and caregivers in order increase participation and improve performance of daily activities, particularly those that are meaningful to the member. Their overall goal is to help members have independent, productive, and satisfying lives.

Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy programNJ State Occupational Therapy LicenseMaintained registration by the American Occupational Therapy Certification BoardSatisfactory completion of Certification Examination of National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) and maintenance of registrationAHA BLS Provider CertificationValid NJ Drivers License and clean driving record Tact and judgment in performance of dutiesCommitment to improving skill levelAbility to work effectively with othersGood verbal and written English communication skillsPreferred:

Full-Time (40 hours/week)Essential Functions:
Administers a comprehensive evaluation including occupational profile, systems review, and application of appropriate tests and measuresInterprets assessment findings in order to identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and establish therapy goalsDevelops an intervention plan based on assessment of the member, member priorities, member discharge needs and expected outcomesAssesses the effectiveness of intervention and modify goals and plans based on the members needs and current level of performanceKeeps current with evidence based professional practice, and engages in continuing competence and professional development activitiesAdvocates for the occupational therapy services offered and for the recipients of those servicesDemonstrates an appreciation for interdisciplinary perspectives and collaborationWorks with team to develop effective solutions to issuesMaintains adequate, concise and legible documentation regarding the progress of each member on caseloadProvides therapy in individual and group settings, may involve a combination of both in person and teletherapy services during the day some eveningsSupervises Level I and Level II Occupational Therapy studentsOther Duties:
