$87,635.92 - $111,466.67 Annually Add'l Salary Info $87,635.92 - $111,466.67 (6 steps) Length of Work Year 198 days Employment Type Full Time Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print    BRENTWOOD UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Title: Occupational Therapist Reports to: Site Administrator/Program Manager Primary Functions: Provide developmental and sensory-motor evaluations of students; develop occupational therapy treatment plans for rehabilitative care; to provide in-service training on the role of occupational therapy, sensory-motor deficits for Far East County (K-8) Collaboration and district personnel; and to do related work as required. Performance Responsibilities: •Identify and evaluate occupational therapy needs of student, especially as related to specific areas of dysfunction in sensory-motor development •Administer appropriate assessments to determine areas of dysfunction •Develop treatment plans and goals to improve students functional abilities and enhance students ability to learn •Provide individual treatment to correct specific areas of sensory-motor integrative dysfunction •Provide group therapy to elected children and classes •Provide consultation to educational staff and parents for classroom and home management of perceptual, motor, sensory, and self-care programs •Refer students and parents to related services which will aid the students development •Participate in meetings to coordinate occupational therapy goals with the total educational program •Make suggestions toward the future development of the occupational therapy program •Maintain and oversee the maintenance of progress records on individual students •Provide direction, training, and assistance to Instructional Assistants assigned to the Occupational Therapy program •Conduct in-service or other training programs for County Superintendent of Schools and district personnel on the role of occupational therapy as an educational service, normal sensory-motor development as related to learning, and identification of sensory-motor deficits •Prepare written reports Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of: Principles and methods of occupational therapeutic techniques; theory of physical and mental rehabilitation underlying the practices of occupational therapy; objectives off occupational therapy treatment and services; skeletal anatomy, neuromuscular function and dysfunction; kinesiology and occupational therapy modalities; principles of consultation, training, and supervision. Abilities: Identify and analyze areas of developmental and sensory-motor dysfunction; develop and carry out treatment plans, goals, and objectives to correct sensory-motor dysfunction; provide consultation for classroom and home management of motor, sensory, perceptual, and self-care programs; explain and provide training on occupational therapy and rehabilitative principles; provide direction to assigned staff; speak and write effectively; maintain records and prepare reports; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
