We want you to apply! **Job Summary and Qualifications** To continuously evaluate, develop a treatment plan and conduct appropriate occupational therapy management to meet the individual needs of medically referred adult and geriatric patients (within the therapist’s scope of practice) in an efficient, productive manner and within the guidelines of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Standards for Practice and Code of Ethics. To take all appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the patients. To maintain accurate, current records on all patients according to the department’s policy and procedures. To supervise support staff and other departmental staff as it relates to patient care. To participate in the quality improvement process and in updating programs and/or development of new programs. To assist with educational programs for departmental and hospital ASSOCIATES and to uphold the standards of the department and hospital by dealing with patients, visitors, ASSOCIATES and other medical professionals in a respectful, courteous manner. What you will do in this role: + You will provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the scope of practice established by law and professional code of ethics. + You will assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status. You will participate in patient placement and in the development of the total plan of care. + You will provide purposeful and skilled interaction care. You will use procedures and techniques to produce a change in condition/function consistent with the physician’s plan of care. + You will observe and report patient’s reaction to treatment and changes in patient’s condition. + You will communicate pertinent payor needs/requirements to physician, treatment team, patient and patient’s family in a timely manner. + You will prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments/handoffs. **What qualifications you will need:** + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + Occupational Therapy (OT) + Bachelors Degree Medical City Lewisville is a full-service 190+ bed medical and surgical facility.
