Occupational Safety Specialist (all genders)
JOB PURPOSE
As an Occupational Safety Specialist (all genders) at Bayer, your role is crucial in ensuring that the services provided by the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) are consistent, fit for purpose, and meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. You will support occupational safety in all aspects for employees and related education on site, as well as manage the incident management system (Intelex) to identify, analyze, and correct hazards, preventing future re-occurrences.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise and support on occupational safety and health mattersAssess work-related accidents and health hazardsCreate risk assessments and SOPs with effectiveness checksIntroduce innovative ideas for safer and humane working systemsOrganize and conduct trainings and subject-related meetingsDesign and implement safety awareness projectsDevelop and maintain an accident management systemImplement an internal reporting system for lessons learned and best practicesAct as the local ISO 45001 site officer, adjusting emergency preparedness documents
WHO YOU ARE
Engineering degree in Safety Technologies or related fieldsMinimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial safety environment, preferably in the chemical industry, or trained as a Safety Coordinator (all genders)Excellent communication and motivational skills and the ability to work well with diverse teams and lead them effectivelyProficiency with Microsoft Office, coupled with exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage tasks and projectsPassion for continuous improvement and learningCertification as an ISO 45001 auditor is a plusCertification as a Fire Protection Officer (all genders) (Brandschutzbeauftragter*in)Strong communication skills in both German (C1/C2 level) and English
