**Job Summary**
The Outdoor Adventures Trip Leader position is an additional job/responsibility. **In order to be eligible for hire, one must apply for the OA Rental Attendant position or currently be a member of the Outdoor Adventures staff.** OA Trip Leaders are responsible for the physical and emotional safety of OA Trip Participants while leading hum-powered outdoor recreation trip for Campus Recreation Services. Trip leaders are additionally responsible for trip logistics, risk management/mitigation and instruction of outdoor pursuits. Additional job duties require all trip leaders to serve as an OA Rental Attendant or Summit Climbing Wall Specialist. These OA positions consist of customer service, equipment rental, point of sale, equipment storage, repair and maintenance of equipment, risk management, clinic instructions, and climbing wall knowledge. Outdoor Adventures staff must be friendly and enthusiastic about the outdoors. They must have good written and verbal communication skills, possess patience and provide excellent customer service. **Campus Recreation Services** is located at the George S. Eccles Student Life Center, which connects student Life with academic life to create an engaged campus community. Amenities include a 50-meter pool, indoor and outdoor leisure pools, large indoor hot tub/spa, 320-yard indoor running track, bouldering and 4-story climbing wall, 5 sport courts, racquetball courts, 4 group fitness studios, and a combative room. Additional amenities include a branch of the U First Credit Union, Shake Smart, four sand volleyball courts and an outdoor basketball court. **Student Affairs** is comprised of over 20 departments and is focused on supporting student well-being and success with the ultimate goal of assisting students in discovering their passion, people, and purpose. To that end, we aim to foster an environment that encourages employees to embrace innovative service delivery methods to best meet the needs of our students. **Responsibilities**
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Know the function, use and design of all of the different OA rental equipment
+ Be knowledgeable of all University and Campus Recreation Services policies and is willing to enforce and uphold them
+ Provide knowledgeable customer service for a wide variety of services and programs
+ Demonstrate proper use and care of equipment to participants
+ Operate rental software, including payments and inventory management
+ Understand that trip leading is a paid position (a job), and Trip Leaders are required to work a certain number of hours and uphold a standard of professionalism.
+ Operate within OA Trip Leader Standards of Practice (SOPs) and safety protocols.
+ Welcome feedback and engage in both personal and technical development.
+ Be a respectful, thoughtful, and inclusive steward of the outdoor community.
+ Provide quality service to participants of trips regardless of the setting or situation.
+ Ensure that Outdoor Adventures is neat and presentable, with equipment stored in the appropriate places
+ Attend training and participate in continuing education responsibilities
+ Other duties as assigned

+ Current University of Utah student
+ Excellent people and communication skills
+ Identifies as an outdoor enthusiast
+ CPR certification or the ability to complete via in house within one month
