This position requires advanced expertise in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems to support calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex automation and medium and high-voltage equipment. The ideal candidate will provide a balanced skill set to ensure reliable performance across both operational and technical areas.
Your scope of responsibility as O&M / IC&E Technician includes the following primary functions:
IC&E Systems Maintenance
Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment from 24V DC to 13.8kV AC, including MCCs, transformers, relays, breakers, motors, heaters, lighting, and switchgear. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation such as flow meters, pressure sensors, and gas chromatographs to ensure accurate process measurement and control. Perform calibration and repair of instrumentation and electrical circuits using test equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability. Interpret and apply electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control logic diagrams to diagnose faults and restore instrumentation and control system functionality. Troubleshoot, repair, and assist in inspecting control systems—including PLCs, engine control modules, plant control systems, and distributed control systems—handling control card replacements and wiring terminations to ensure reliable and continuous operation. Document maintenance activities, update drawings and calibration records, and support commissioning using CMMS for accurate data entry and maintenance tracking. Coordinate IC&E maintenance tasks with other departments and contractors, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.Primary Operations and Equipment Support
Startup, shutdown, and routine operations of power plant systems, including simple-cycle combustion turbines. Operate major auxiliary equipment such as air compressors, and generator cooling systems, along with locally controlled electrical and mechanical devices to ensure smooth facility operation. Prepare equipment for service and follow operating procedures and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct operating tests, inspections, and minor repairs on assigned equipment to ensure proper function and prevent downtime. Perform regular visual and auditory inspections to identify malfunctions, repairs, adjustments, or lubrication needs, taking proactive measures to maintain equipment integrity. Monitor and record parameters such as temperature, vibration, operating hours, pressure, and fluid levels using meters, gauges, or automated devices to verify optimal conditions. Maintain accurate logs documenting operational activities, equipment status, and any abnormalities encountered. Promptly report abnormal or irregular conditions and take corrective actions within prescribed guidelines to prevent damage or hazards. Diagnose mechanical malfunctions or failures and implement repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation. Collaborate with IC&E technicians during troubleshooting and maintenance of control systems as needed. Provide assistance during maintenance periods, collaborating with maintenance teams to ensure timely task completion. Utilize CMMS to track operational activities and support maintenance documentation as required. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager, contributing to overall plant efficiency and effectiveness.NAES Safe
