Job Description
NYCHA has a need for a Digital Van Instructor/Driver in the Desktop & Device Management Department. The purpose of this position is to bridge the digital divide by providing technology and Internet support to residents with limited access, via a mobile van equipped with laptops and Internet.
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Van/Kiosk, the Digital Van Instructor/Driver is responsible for driving one of four technology-equipped vans to different NYCHA resident developments daily to provide computer and Internet access to residents. The Instructor/Driver provides technical support to facilitate the use of onsite equipment, including laptops, printer, and Internet hotspot. The Instructor/Driver assists resident housing assistant staff who work directly with residents to submit required annual lease renewal applications. In partnership with Resident Engagement and with other City Agencies, Digital Van Instructor/Drivers provide additional support to NYC Community events, by setting up the digital van and assisting the public with utilizing the WiFi hotspots to access information in support of community events.
Specific tasks include:
1. Instruct residents in basic computer literacy skills, such as:
- Setting up an email account
- Using internet browsers and search engines
- Accessing Social Media
- Use of Microsoft Office applications
- Initiating job searches
- Writing or formatting of resumes
- Printing and scanning
- Accessing wireless internet
- Utilizing NYCHA online applications for rent payments, submitting maintenance requests, etc.
2. Assist residents, in partnership with local Housing Assistant staff at developments, to complete their online Tenant Recertification utilizing Siebel Application.
3. Provide supplemental support to kiosk, mobile and desktop support teams on days with no van appointments scheduled.

Qualification Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Salary Min: $ 44,545.00
Salary Max: $ 67,000.00
