Job Overview:
Registered Dietitian, Wellness Services Community Nutrition Education and Food Access Programming at St, James Health The Wellness Services Registered Dietitian will lead community nutrition education and food access programming with our partners at St, James Health at 228 Lafayette Street, Newark in accordance with the RWJBH Community Health project. This position will be responsible for overseeing Food Farmacy program and corresponding nutrition education. The ideal applicant for this position should be energetic and passionate about nutrition education and food insecurity as it relates to the social determinants of health. The Wellness Services Registered Dietitian will report to the Director of Food Access and Social Impact, RWJBarnabas Health.
Qualifications:
Required:
+ Two year s experience in nutrition education and group teaching is preferred
+ Strong organizational and leadership skills
+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
+ Knowledge of food access challenges in the community and federal food assistance programs including SNAP, WIC, SFMNP and CACFP
+ ServSafe certification preferred
+ Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred
+ Education requirements include a bachelor s degree in nutrition and dietetics and a certified Registered Dietitian Nutritionist accredited through CDR,
+ Master s degree in nutrition or public health preferred,

Essential Functions:
+ Overseeing St, James Food Farmacy program in partnership with the Community FoodBank of NJ or CFBNJ
+ This includes food procurement and networking with the CFBNJ to maximize program participation.
+ Completes nutrition assessments while providing the highest quality service and follows up in a timely manner as per policy and procedure.
+ Demonstrates effective time management skills.
+ Documents appropriate nutrition history and nutritional care in writing in the EMR,
+ Organizing and teaching child and adult nutrition education programs at St, James Health
+ Developing nutrition education activities and handouts for children and parents
+ Coordinate programming and enrollment with St, James multi-disciplinary team.
+ Records and analyzes data points related to behavior change, food frequency assessments, pantry utilization statistics and more.
+ Manages program expenses in accordance with grant funding.
+ Engages grant funders and other community stakeholders and helps procure and leverage key partnerships that broaden community impact.
