The community you’ll be caring for:

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando

serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America

AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country

We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year

You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth Orlando’s service standards.

Serves as subject matter expert and resource

Maintains knowledge of current regulatory guidelines applicable to kitchen sanitation and life safety, such as the Federal Food Code and the Florida Food Code.

Communicates current issues and standards changes throughout the multi-campus system

Strategic Planning

Based on customer feedback and input from the Manager of Recruitment, Compliance and Training Programs, develops strategies to address educational topics as needed.

Remains current with external trends, best practices, and innovations in learning and staff development.

Training

Develops department education and training plan in collaboration with the Manager of Recruitment, Compliance and Training Programs.

Develops and presents curriculum with supporting materials for education and development programs. Facilitates training programs on the campuses.

Monitors campus documentation

Audits processes and campus documentation on required logs and forms for safety and sanitation, life safety equipment, and fire prevention records.

Analyzes results and reviews with campus leadership and Manager of Recruitment, Compliance and Training Programs.

Process Improvement

Focuses on opportunities for process improvement and data collection/analysis and reporting of key performance indicators.

Provides on-going evaluation and revision of presentations, training materials. processes based on current trends and evidence-based information.

Recruitment

Supports and assists the Manager of Recruitment, Compliance and Training Programs with interviewing applicants and the coordination of orientation and training for new hire.

Serves as NS Representative

Provides input and participates in relevant FH and NS committees; reports outcomes to the and Manager of Recruitment, Compliance and Training Programs.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Required:

Bachelors degree in management, business, education, or hospitality -OR- Four years of business, education, hospitality experience

Two (2) years experience in food services.

Strong interviewing skills, ability to build relationships

Professional, engaging, and dynamic presentation skills

Knowledge of regulatory standards: Federal Food Code, Florida Food Code 64e, CMS Conditions of Participation; ability to interpret DNV standards for hospital operations

Preferred:

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

Technical writing

Experience in Training and Development, Recruiting, Education, HR

ServSafe Instructor and Proctor certification

Recruitment certification

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Recruitment, Compliance and Training Programs, the Specialist serves as a subject matter expert and educator of regulatory standards for safety and sanitation; develops in-services and related materials according to the education and training plan. Monitors campus documentation records for accuracy; conducts on-going process improvement of training materials and assists campuses in developing process improvement plans to address deficiencies. Supports and assists with interviewing applicants and coordinating orientation and training of new hires. Represents FH and NS on relevant committees and in the community. Some local travel is required. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
