Job Summary
Takes Patient Meals/Food Requests/Supplements/Formulas from the Patient Tray Line and delivers the Meals/Requests/Supplements/Formulas directly to the patient or Nursing staff; Adds requested hot beverages and frozen desserts to the tray before delivering to the appropriate location from the nearest Patient Galley; Uses mandatory Infection Control precautions and patient identifiers upon entering each patient room· Records ticket numbers of all Meals/Food Requests taken for delivery
· Delivers all Patient Requests within 45 minutes of the order being placed
· Removes dirty trays from Patient’s room or Nursing floor as needed
· Assists Tray Line in all functions needed – preparation of Emergency Department Bags, Box Meals, etc.
· Works Tray Line position if needed
· Wipes down clean trucks and pushes the trucks into the hallway for the next meal
· Assists in Dish Room as needed
· Maintains high levels of sanitation in work area (including all equipment, carts, etc.)
· Handles food in accordance to department, hospital, state, federal & JCAHO guidelines
· Performs all other duties as assigned
