Nutrition Distribution Specialist
**Job Description:** Responsible for the receiving, storing, and rotating food and non-food inventory for the Nutrition Services Department per department protocols and guidelines. Follows regulatory guidelines for maintaining proper food temperatures to ensure food safety throughout the receiving and storage process. **Posting Specifics** **Pay Rate** **:** Based on Experience **Shift Details:** **Full-time** **(40 hrs/wk)** This position will be working Sunday through Thursday (7:00am – 3:30pm) **Department:** Intermountain Medical Center Culinary Services **Additional Details:** This job will require some computer literacy skills such as working with Microsoft word, excel, etc. This position will be mainly responsible for completing inventory of our dietary rooms on each of the patient floors as well as billing requisitions to each of those floors. There will be many miscellaneous tasks to help in other areas of the kitchen such as putting stock away, transporting food and equipment for catering, helping procure foods for events, or other things. Incumbent needs to be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and is physically capable of putting heavy boxes of food and product away. **Minimum Qualifications** + Valid state driver's license, if required by facility + Current food handler's permit + Demonstrated ability to write accurately and legibly. + Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and apply procedures and instructions + Demonstrated ability to use a power pallet jack and all other material handling equipment. **Essential Functions** Job Essentials Receiving and Storage Functions: + Receives and verifies physical shipment with packing slips and purchase orders and notifies Culinary procurement of discrepancies. Identifies damaged or missing items to expedite credits and refuses sub-standard products + Stocks materials in proper storage locations following FIFO and labels products according to department procedures. Follows HACCP, local and state health department standards. + Processes outbound (shipping) supplies and equipment to ensure accuracy and timeliness. + Maintains a clean and orderly storage and receiving area/dock. Distribution Functions: + Picks orders according to production needs, verifies unit of measurement, quality and correct product. + Ensures all delivery containers are labelled, dated and staged properly. + Problem solves picking issues by making adjustments and corrections to pick lists. + Performs data entry on materials that were disbursed and transferred. + Distributes food and non-food products to assigned locations, including satellite facilities. + Stores and uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards. **Skills** + Warehouse duties + Food handling + Food Safety and Sanitation + Warehousing Operations + Material Handling Equipment + Inventory Management + Food Service Operations + Food Storage + Power Pallet Jack + Food Services **Physical Requirements:** **Physical Requirements** + Interact with co-workers requiring the employee to verbally communicate information, as well as understand spoken information. + Operate food service equipment or computer requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. + See and read labels, monitors, and documents. + Carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting food, supplies, and service equipment. + Climb, squat, kneel, and lift (up to 50 pounds) to clean equipment and reach and retrieve food and supplies. + Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work. + Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work at a grill or in a refrigerator. **Location:** Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center **Work City:** Murray **Work State:** Utah **Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 40 The hourly range for this position is listed below.
