Nursing Simulation Program Coordinator - Nursing Education - Days / Evenings
Full-time (80 hours biweekly) Weekdays, daytime hours Occasional evening and weekend hours Remote work capable **General Summary** Develops, coordinates, implements, supports, and evaluates simulation-based learning activities for System nurses to enhance learning, improve clinical skills, promote competence, and ongoing professional development through innovative simulation methodologies. Collaborates with entity based clinical educators and interdisciplinary key stakeholders to ensure simulation activities adhere with best practices to improve patient safety, quality outcomes, and clinical competency. **Essential Functions:** + Designs simulation-based training programs tailored to the specific needs of nurses in various specialties, ensuring alignment with best clinical practice standards and educational outcome goals. + Coordinates and facilitates simulation sessions, including high-, mid-, and low-fidelity simulations, scenario-based training, and debriefing sessions to enhance clinical competence, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills. + Assesses the effectiveness of simulation programs through participant feedback, performance metrics, and outcome analysis, making necessary adjustments to improve training quality. + Works closely with Nursing Professional Development (NPD) leads, nursing leaders, entity based clinical educators, clinical staff and other key stakeholders to identify training/learning needs and integrate simulation into orientation, Nurse Residency Program, and ongoing professional development initiatives. + Establishes and maintains effective partnerships with equipment vendors, the IT department, and Supply Chain to remain informed and share updates with WellSpan colleagues regarding the latest advancements in equipment, technology, and supplies. + Provides education and training to clinical educators and nursing staff on the use of simulation tools and techniques, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. + Stays current with best practices and emerging trends in simulation-based education, incorporating evidence-based methods into all program development. + Serves as key stakeholder in design and development of an interdisciplinary system simulation program. + Maintains accurate records of simulation activities, participant performance, and program outcomes for reporting and accreditation purposes. + Supports programs and initiatives of the System Nursing Education and Professional Development team through facilitation of classes, collaboration in projects, and other duties as required to support the goals of the team. **Common Expectations:** + Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment and safety standards. + Enhances and maintains professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, seminars, workshops, current literature and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. + Supports shared decision-making structure at both the system level through active involvement as appropriate and encouraging staff professional development. + Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. **Travel Requirements:** + Estimated Amount: 50% - Travel time may vary based on the needs of the organization **Qualifications** **Minimum Education:** + Masters Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education Required **Work Experience:** + 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a nursing education or professional development role required + Experience with simulation-based training preferred **Licenses:** + Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required or + Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required + Nursing Professional Development - Board Certified Upon Hire Preferred **Driver's License Statement:** Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence.
