Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a NURSING (PRACTITIONER, Position Description Number T6002P01 and is part of the 105TH AW, National Guard. Veterans Preference does not apply due to position being a Professional and Scientific Position. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a NURSING (PRACTITIONER), GS-0610-12, you will provide a fulltime, experienced Physician Assistant / Nursing (Practitioner) to support the planning, scheduling, execution, management, and administration of installation-wide medical management including, aerospace and operational disposition and clinical judgment for medical case management to promote and maintain the health and well-being of assigned Air National Guard (ANG) personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level. The purpose of this position is to provide a fulltime, experienced Physician Assistant / Nursing (Practitioner) to support the planning, scheduling, execution, management, and administration of installation-wide medical management including, aerospace and operational disposition and clinical judgment for medical case management to promote and maintain the health and well-being of assigned Air National Guard (ANG) personnel. Must have 12 months planning, organizing and supervising unit flying support operational programs and to pilot or navigate and instruct utilizing a technical knowledge of USAF and ANG aviation regulations, policies, requirements and standards, skills and practices and the application of instructional techniques to the training of other pilots and navigators in and Air National Guard Flying Unit. Must have 12 months experience providing medical care to Airmen undergoing treatment, routine examination, and Medical Board Examinations. Must have knowledge of practices for outpatient care in order to write routine orders, knowledge of the medical, biological and physical sciences related to the primary health care specialty area and skill in the identification, decontamination, management, and treatment of chemical /nuclear / biological injuries. Education You must meet the following Education requirement to qualify for this position: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs(external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. AND For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You must provide OFFICIAL transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (Register | Selective Service System : Selective Service System (sss.gov)). Superior Qualifications and Special Needs Pay-setting Authority may be considered for this position. TAG is final approval authority for incentive programs (applicable to newly appointed federal employees or those with a 90 day break in service). Recruitment, Retention and Relocation Incentive may be authorized up to 25% of base pay for a max of 4 years pending TAG approval. Must be able to obtain and maintain privileging for the DOD/AFMS/ANGMS IAW DHA PM 6025-13 Vol 4 and DAFMAN 44-119.
