Position Summary

The Nursing Policy Coordinator is responsible for managing the development, review, revision, and dissemination of nursing policies and procedures to ensure alignment with current regulatory standards, best practices, and organizational goals. This role leads nursing practice audits to monitor compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the coordinator manages nursing web-based clinical resources, ensuring they are current, accessible, and aligned with organizational standards. The coordinator collaborates closely with nursing leadership, shared governance councils, the Quality Department, and other stakeholders to support professional nursing practice and regulatory compliance. 

 

Responsibilities

•    Develops, reviews, updates, and maintains nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with nursing leadership, clinical experts, shared governance committees, and the Quality Department

•    Facilitates the policy approval process, ensuring timely review and dissemination to nursing staff and leadership

•    Leads and coordinates nursing practice audits to assess compliance with nursing policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards

•    Analyzes audit findings to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement; reports results to nursing leadership, shared governance councils, and the Quality Department 

•    Collaborates closely with the Quality Department to integrate nursing policy audits with broader quality and safety initiatives

•    Manages and maintains nursing clinical web-based resources, ensuring content is up-to-date, relevant, and accessible to nursing staff

•    Provides education and communication related to nursing policies, audit outcomes, and clinical resources to staff and leadership

•    Supports shared governance efforts by serving as a resource for policy-related questions, audit processes, and clinical resources

•    Maintains accurate records of policies, revisions, audit data, resource updates, and compliance documentation

•    Participates in interdisciplinary committees related to nursing governance, quality, and patient safety

•    Assists in the preparation of evidence for Magnet recognition related to nursing policies, compliance audits, and clinical resource management

•    Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

•    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function

•    Performs other related duties as assigned

•    Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned

 

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required; if bachelor’s degree is not in nursing, must also have an ADN 

•    Master’s degree preferred

•    State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” compact with Idaho prior to start date

•    Minimum 3 years’ experience in nursing practice, policy development, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance preferred

•    Experience conducting or supporting nursing practice audits or quality audits

•    Experience managing clinical web-based resources (e.g., Lippincott, Dynamic Health) preferred

•    Strong knowledge of nursing regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and policy development processes

•    Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

•    Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including Quality Department

•    Proficiency with data collection, analysis, and reporting tools
