4-Week Paid Training: Attend full-time classes on the day shift at Condell, fully paid!Full-Time and Part-Time Role: Upon successful completion, step into a Full-time or Part-time Nursing Assistant position on the night shift or day shift at Condell, working on a unit where you’ll make a real impact.Major Responsibilities
As a Nursing Assistant Trainee, you’ll:
Complete the Program: Adhere to syllabus rules, attend all 88 hours of training, complete assignments, and pass the final exam with a minimum score of 75%.Support Patient Care: Assist RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and using therapeutic assistive devices.Monitor and Document: Measure and record vital signs (TPR), intake/output, daily weights, and other patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with instructor support.Ensure Safety and Comfort: Apply proper techniques for patient positioning, transporting, and nutritional support, while maintaining skin integrity and using devices like TED hose.Maintain Infection Control: Follow protocols for hand hygiene, sterile procedures, and proper attire in isolation settings.Collect Specimens: Properly collect and label urine, stool, and sputum samples.Provide Specialized Care: Perform tasks like removing IVs, post-mortem care, and bladder scans (as required by the unit).Uphold Advocate's Standards: Align with Advocate's vision, mission, and policies to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.Program Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.Skills:Basic math skills (ability to pass a math assessment).Basic computer skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during shifts.Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 20 lbs. overhead, and carry 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform sliding transfers of 150 lbs. with assistance.Functional vision and hearing.Comfortable using foot pedals on carts
