**Req Number** 160257 Job Description Performs selected diagnostic tests and prescribed treatments. Provides patients with assistance in performing the activities of daily living. Assists health care team in ensuring patients safety. Job Responsibility 1. Provides patients with assistance in performing the activities of daily living 2. Provides equipment/supplies for and appropriately assists patients with oral and personal hygiene 3. Prepares patients for meals/ snacks/ liquids and assists with feeding, as needed.Assists in health care team's physical/psychological assessment of patient 4. Accurately measures and records patient's TPR, blood pressure, height, weight, intake/output and bowel movement, as appropriate 5. Collects required specimens; e.g., urine, feces, sputum 6. Reports any observable changes in patient's condition, treatment results, and/or patient/family concerns to the registered professional nurse. Performs selected diagnostic tests and prescribed treatments consistent with established procedures under supervision of registered nurse 7. Applies simple dressings 8. Discontinues intravenous peripheral therapies 9. Performs electrode application and EKG 10. Obtains accucheck results and informs nurse 11. Assists with the insertion of Foley catheters 12. Cleanses pressure injuries 13. Removes foley catheters according to established procedure 14. Correctly applies buck traction to patient 15. Assists patients with elimination, as required, e.g 16. bedpans, urinals or enemas. Participates in health care team's responsibility to assure patient safety 17. Promptly responds to any patient's call bell and/or emergency light 18. Recognizes unsafe acts/conditions and corrects and/or reports same, as appropriate 19. Demonstrates appropriate use of side rails, restraints, gerichair and appropriately positions patients 20. Appropriately transports patients 21. Appropriately responds to fire, evacuation, and internal/external emergencies and drills. Functions effectively within organizational structure 22. Accepts assignment and seeks clarification, as needed 23. Carries out assignment 24. Reports patient care observations and findings to RN regularly. Participates as an integral part of the nursing team in assuming additional duties and responsibilities 25. Maintains competence by attending in-service education programs. Performs related duties, as required.*ADA Essential Functions 26. High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Completion of a Nursing Assistant Course, required. Heart Saver Certification, preferred. Minimum of two (2) years direct patient care experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively. *Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
