Here’s What You Need
Ph. D in Nursing, education or related field required 2 years nursing research experience required and 5 years healthcare setting experience (RN) required RN upon hire required
What You Will Do
Promote, initiate and facilitate nursing research.
Leads, designs, develops, conducts, evaluates and disseminates EBP and research activities. Aligns evidence-based practice and research with the system and entity level priorities. Assists THR nurses and inter-professional team members with IRB proposals Collaborates with other nurse scientists, nurses and members of other disciplines to promote and facilitate scholarly activities. Where possible, develops grant proposals to support the development of research. Works with Texas Health Research and Education Institute, VP professional Practice, Research and Magnet and others to identify and acquire the necessary funding for research from private or public sector sources as applicable. Disseminates research findings to the scientific community through journals and professional conferences. Facilitates other nurse authors’ efforts to disseminate evidence-based practice and research findings through manuscript, poster, and podium presentations.Provides education and mentoring related to research and evidence-based practices.
Designs and presents individual classes/courses or educational events for health-care providers related to research or EBP based on needs of entities and system Collaborates with other nurse scientists to design and standardize strategies for EBP and research. Mentors individual nurses who are pursuing scholarly activities and projects aimed at improving outcomes related to Texas Health Resources.Executes activities to stimulate and promote a culture of inquiry and scholarship in the quest for excellence.
Facilitates research translation/integration into clinical practice by communicating and interpreting research findings and engaging appropriate councils and leadership. Engages bedside nurses, leadership, and other disciplines in ensuring that practice is based on current research and evidence. Supports the chair and/or chairs of entity EBP and Research Councils. Serves as a liaison to the Institutional Review Board to represent nursing.
