Responsibilities
Mayo Clinic Children’s seeks a physician assistant or nurse practitioner who is collaborative, compassionate, and committed to providing the highest quality care to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in Pediatric Endocrinology. This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be 1.0 FTE based in the outpatient clinic providing care to children and teenagers with endocrine disorders including diabetes, obesity, and thyroid disorders. The care will include comprehensive physical assessment and evaluation, establishing treatment goals, coordination of diagnostic testing, interpretation of testing, trouble-shooting treatment related side effects, education of families, and communication with both Mayo and local providers. The APP will focus on the longitudinal management of children with endocrine disorders. The APP will work closely with the physicians in the division, other allied health staff on the team, and fellow and resident learners. The Pediatric Endocrinology division is a group practice currently consisting of 5 physicians and 4 registered nurses. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research as well as in education of patients and medical professionals.
Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification (or eligible to be certified) as an FNP or PNP. Certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date.
OR
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA with the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice
Registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross are required but can be obtained upon hire
Pediatric and/or Endocrinology experience is preferred.
