Job overview:

This role reports to neurosurgery Lead APP and Service Line AVP. Provides comprehensive care to patients across inpatient, outpatient and operative settings.The APP works collaboratively with neurosurgeons and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes through high quality, evidence-based care.

Job Requirements:

Master s degree in Nursing required.Registered Professional Nurse with current NJ state license; CDS and DEA.CPR certification.NP Certification.

Essential Functions:

Conduct comprehensive patient assessmentsAssist in preoperative and post operative carePerform procedures: lumbar punctures, wound care, suturing, intracranial pressure monitoringOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging,Develop treatment plans in collaboration with neurosurgeonsRound on neurosurgical patients in the ICU and step down unitsCollaborate with critical care teamsEducates patients and families on surgical proceduresMentors and trains residents, APP students and nursing staff
