Associates are eligible to apply for a transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is four (4) months for full-time employees, and six (6) months for part-time employees.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide a full range of direct and collaboration in gynecological oncology care services. The NP's clinical duties include responsibility for a cohort of patients and may include conducting the following: gynecologic oncology evaluation of new patients with concern for gynecologic cancer, pre and post-surgical care, chemotherapy-related management, cancer surveillance, urgent visits, disability/return to work form completion. Also, general gynecologic care including but not limited to annual well woman exams, pap smears, and contraceptive counseling; disability/return to work form completion, and urgent visit gynecologic consultations.
This position reports to the Nurse Manager and Assistant Director of Nursing to help actualize the vision, mission, values, and goals of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women's Health, and the Montefiore Medical Center. The NP is a key member of the clinical team which assesses and provides care to a selected group of patients in collaboration with physicians; carries out the plan of care for their patient panel; participates in performance improvement activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. Weiler campus homebase but, will cover at alternate ambulatory site if required.
Schedule: Four-day work week, Mondays and Fridays required.
3 days at 9.5 hours and 1 day at 9.0 hours

Job Responsibilities
Performs and records a complete physical examination, health history, and care plan
In collaboration with physicians and other health care providers, coordinates care of patients, and evaluates plan of care toward health goals and modifies plan of care accordingly
Develops and analyzes differential diagnoses based on clinical and laboratory data
Prescribes medications and educates the patient and/or involved others about the drug regimen, interactions and side effects
Participates in a team approach to health care by acting as liaison between subspecialist and other members of the primary care team
Performs related duties as necessary
Requirements
Masters Degree
5 years work experience
New York State License for a Nurse Practitioner and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an NP
DEA, BLS & ACLS are required
2 years experience in women’s health required
Excellent critical thinking skills and extensive knowledge of physical assessment
Ability to work for OBGYN oncology and general OBGYN
