Apply today to our Nurse Manager of Med-Surg and be a part of the innovation of ideas. **Job Summary and Qualifications** + The Nurse Manager of Med-Surg is responsible for the supervision, coordination and evaluation of nursing care provided on the assigned unit. + The Manager coordinates and supervises the activities for the unit, which supports the safe and efficient delivery of care. + The Manager assists the Department Director in the implementation of Performance Improvement activities, hospital policies/procedures and in the financial management of the Unit. + You will participate in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities. + You will interview and hire nursing staff. + You will schedule nursing staff. + You will act as the clinical resource for the Nursing Unit. + You will serve as an advocate for nursing staff. + You will evaluate staff performance. + You will counsel, discipline and promote staff development. + You will participate in financial management of the assigned unit. + You will participate in financial planning/budgeting for the assigned unit. + You will plan and conduct staff meetings. + You will plan and coordinate unit related in-services. + You will manage clinical activities on assigned unit, assuring age specific standards are maintained by staff as well as manager. + You will maintain 24-hour accountability for the direction, supervision, coordination and evaluation of activities and services of the assigned unit. + You will seek opportunities to improve department or interdepartmental processes. **What qualifications you will need:** **Licensure/Certification/Registration:** + Current RN license effective to practice in state of Texas. + BLS certification from HCA approved vendor. **Education:** + Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field required from an accredited school. + Masters of Science in Nursing preferred, but not required. **Experience:** + 3-5 years experience as a staff nurse in the clinical area. + 1 year of supervisory or charge nurse experience. + Documented clinical knowledge and skills related to the assigned clinical practice area. + Previous management experience or demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership position.
