As Nurse Manager, you will oversee operations for the Labor and Delivery and OB Emergency department. The Labor and Delivery Unit at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital handles about 4,800 births each year. It offers private rooms, 24/7 access to operating rooms for C-sections, and has a Level III NICU for babies needing extra care. The unit also includes special suites for natural childbirth with features like tubs, nitrous oxide, and support from doulas. Hillcrest is a Baby-Friendly Hospital, supporting breastfeeding and offering services like cord blood donation and hypnobirthing. Connected to the unit is a 7-bed OB Emergency Department (OB ED), open 24/7 and staffed by OB specialists to care for pregnant patients with urgent needs.

**A caregiver in this role works days 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with on-call requirements based on clinic needs.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
+ Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
+ Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
+ Supervise caregivers and promote development.
+ Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
+ Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments.
+ Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.
+ Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
+ Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
+ Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
+ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of hire
+ Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of hire
+ Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience
+ High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
+ Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN)

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
+ Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
+ Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.
+ Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
