As Nurse Manager, you will oversee operations for the Observation Unit. This unit provides care and observes patients requiring expedited evaluation to determine the appropriate inpatient/outpatient intervention. In this role, you will have the responsibility of managing daily practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care. You will use your extensive knowledge and skills to supervise and provide clinical direction to maintain and ensure quality outcomes. A caregiver in this role works days 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit. Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards. Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care. Supervise caregivers and promote development. Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards. Coordinate unit operations with other units/departments. Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes. Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs. Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans. Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skillsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
