Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Nurse Intern Registered Nurses will provide patient care with the guidance of a preceptor while completing training in the identified specialty area. Preceptorship and training are considered complete when the Nurse Intern can function independently and take a full patient assignment in their specialty area. Upon successful completion of specialty training the Nurse Intern Registered Nurse will practice under the job description for the specialty area in which they were trained.
The registered nurse employs critical thinking to integrate objective data with knowledge gained from an assessment of the subjective experiences of patients. Registered nurses use this critical thinking process to apply the best available evidence and research data to the processes of diagnosis and treatment. Nurses continually evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and seek to optimize outcomes.This position is represented by CNA and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months experience as an RN within the last 5 years or successful refresher course and one (1) year previous experience.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
RN - Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada.
CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support – AHA
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an acute care setting in any capacity.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Certification in Specialty Area.
