Job DescriptionThe Nurse provides nursing expertise within the multi-disciplinary team to educate, manage, support, stabilise patients. The Nurse will ensure Patient wellbeing, assess health needs, develop, implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer, and record medication according to the medical orders and monitor for side effects along with changes in patient’s condition. Obtain and record vital signs and monitor for changes in patient’s condition. Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. The implementation of medical treatment, prescription as advised by the Doctor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance of medical records for all patientsCollect and review patient history and physicalEvaluate patients by collecting current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient historyConsult and coordinate with the health team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient careResponsible for maintaining the standard of carePromote communication between doctors and patients regarding test results and treatment recommendationsMake logical decisions in emergency scenarios based on patient conditions such as vital signs, patient presentation, and assessmentsAdministrative registration of the patients when requiredMaintain knowledge and operational state of the medical software, in relation with the Health Manager and IT ManagerEvaluate, plan, and implement patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members, radiologists, laboratory technicians, pharmacists, and medical doctorsObtain patient urine samples, blood samples, and change dressings according to prescriptionPerform ECG and other investigation tests according to prescriptionAdminister medications to patients by mouth, intramuscularly, intravenously, topically, or via nebulization according to prescription, whilst monitoring for untoward reactionsProvide bedside care for a variety of medical patientsPlacement of urinary catheter, intravenous catheter, nasogastric catheter, and patient monitoring, according to prescriptionCollaborate with the healthcare team during the discharge processMaintain a safe, clean environment for the patient in the office entry and the hospital unitProvide emotional support to patients and relativesQualificationsA first-level degree/diploma as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of three (3) years progressive post-qualification clinical experience in general nursing.
Currently registered and licensed to practice nursing without supervision in own country or another EU member state.
ACLS/BLS certification or equivalen
Additional InformationRotations are typically 8 weeks on duty and 8 weeks off duty. Flights, food and accommodation are provided whilst on duty at the project site.
