The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $56.96 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Nurse Clinician reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Nurse Clinician will work in a multidisciplinary environment which will require exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and administrative units. This position will utilize nursing skills to perform patient assessments via phone or in person and implement nursing interventions; as such the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity is required when resolving patient care issues. The Nurse Clinician is also responsible for initiating & organizing patient education for the population this unit serves.

The Digestive Health Center Gastroenterology specialty uses their clinical expertise to diagnose and treat disorders of the digestive tract.   This position supports the nursing ambulatory clinic roles and responsibilities for this multidisciplinary team. 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and providing appropriate clinical care to patients in the designated care setting Uphold current endoscopy guidelinesResolve endoscopy scheduling barriersCommunicate, educate, and assess for patient understanding of their bowel prep and instructions for their procedure.Collaborate with care team for higher acuity patientsPrioritize patient conditions requiring immediate colonoscopy proceduresTriage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills and service standards.Ensure patients understandComply with all existing policies and procedures related to patient care.Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff and other customers.Demonstrates customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues.Develops, coordinates and provides education for patients, family, caregivers and staff based on personalized needs along with serving as a resource for ongoing education Serves as a communication link between the patient, family, caregivers and interdisciplinary team Contributes to department, hospital or other professional committees and/or quality or process improvement initiatives. Ensures clinical practice and patient care is consistent with policies and procedures  Other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in nursingGraduate from an accredited school of nursingState Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employmentCertification in Basic CPR2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment
