What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.
Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.
Qualifications
4-8 years of experience, preferredBachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferredability to manage up to 75 poundsValid driver's license and good driving record Flexibility to work various shifts and rotate schedules Ability to work on call, weekends, holidays or be in a rotation to do so. Overtime may be required with little to no advanced notice Comfortable working in a nuclear environment Comfortable with repetitive tasks Advanced computer skills preferred (Microsoft Office programs) Decisions have a direct impact to work unit operations and customersResponsibilities
Supervises the following pharmacy personnel: Nuclear Pharmacy Technicians and driversNPT certified or willing to be trained as an NPT (necessary in order to supervise technicians)
Trains, coaches, mentors, develops and provides direction to staff as appropriate Conducts performance appraisals for direct reports. Applies their knowledge and skills to effectively enhance the smooth functioning and productivity of the pharmacy Dispenses dose and preforms pharmacy technician and/or delivery driver duties as assigned. Monitors Radiation Safety Program Ensures attainment of budget objectives through effective financial management and optimal utilization of resources (labor, delivery and material efficiencies). Sets business direction for pharmacy(s) and articulates priorities. Acts as liaison to ensure and take an active role in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and corporate contacts through regular interactions. Ensures internal quality and regulatory standards are maintained at or above an acceptable level. Ensures positive working relationships with all pharmacy employees through regular interactions, team building, and active listening. Oversees and is accountable for safety for all employees and security of the facility. Ensures operational procedures are in compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations. Prepares regular reports and analysis for management, customer correspondence, succession plans, and employee documentation. Ensures high quality products and services are delivered to customers; resolves complaints. Conducts staff meetings.
