Job Summary 

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II performs advanced diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and specialized imaging equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring patient safety, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, maintaining equipment, and adhering to all regulatory and radiation safety standards. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II collaborates with Physicians, Radiologists, and healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic imaging and high-quality patient care. This position also assists with department operations, quality control, and regulatory compliance efforts to ensure efficient and safe nuclear medicine services.

Qualifications

2-4 years of experience performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures in a clinical or hospital setting required Experience with advanced nuclear medicine procedures, including SPECT and therapy applications in an acute care setting preferred

Licenses and Certifications

Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required (N) ARDMS or ARRT - Nuclear Med Tech required or NMTCB - Nuclear Medicine Tech required BCLS - Basic Life Support required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced proficiency in nuclear medicine imaging techniques, radiopharmaceutical handling, and radiation safety procedures. Strong knowledge of NRC, state, and federal regulations for nuclear medicine operations and compliance. Ability to troubleshoot nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper operation and timely maintenance. Effective communication and patient care skills, ensuring comfort and understanding during procedures. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in quality control and equipment troubleshooting. Attention to detail and ability to accurately document and report imaging studies, radiopharmaceutical administration, and safety compliance data. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
