Nuclear Mechanical Pressure Engineer

Our client, a global assurance and compliance specialist, is seeking a Nuclear Mechanical Pressure Engineer to support the delivery of technically complex and safety-critical projects within the nuclear and high-integrity infrastructure sectors. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, compliance, and performance of pressure systems and mechanical components in regulated environments where safety and assurance are paramount

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Delivery & Technical Oversight

Provide expert engineering input into the design, assessment, and verification of pressure systems and mechanical components in nuclear applications.

Support safety case development, conformity assessments, and technical reviews in line with UK nuclear regulatory requirements.

Develop and approve technical specifications, inspection plans, and maintenance strategies for pressure-boundary equipment.

Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable nuclear codes, standards, and quality frameworks.

Pressure Systems & Mechanical Integrity

Apply in-depth knowledge of pressure vessel design, mechanical systems, and materials performance under nuclear operating conditions.

Lead the development and validation of inspection and testing methodologies for pressure systems, including high-integrity welds and joints.

Support lifecycle integrity management, including fitness-for-service assessments, defect evaluation, and repair strategies.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

Act as a key technical interface between internal engineering teams, regulatory bodies, and supply chain partners.

Facilitate clear communication of technical requirements, risks, and compliance obligations across project stakeholders.

Contribute to cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of engineering, safety, and quality objectives.

Continuous Improvement & Governance

Drive continuous improvement in pressure system engineering practices, documentation, and assurance processes.

Support audits, peer reviews, and regulatory inspections to uphold the highest standards of safety and performance.

Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering deliverables within defined project parameters.
