Summary You will serve as a NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the NUCLEAR MATERIAL DIVISION of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Responsibilities You will guide and exercise technical control over shipyard work to ensure the safety and economy of the submarine propulsion plant. You will interpret engineering tasks to personnel. You will carry out a continuing review of engineering and production work to ensure the requirements for control of the nuclear propulsion plant are met. You will participate in conferences as a representative of the division. You will review drawings related to the nuclear propulsion plant for technical adequacy. You will provide engineering support to the supply program for the procurement, inspection, and acceptance of critical nuclear reactor plant equipment and materials. You will perform the advance technical planning functions necessary to prepare the shipyard for forthcoming availabilities and overhaul work on the propulsion plants of nuclear powered submarines.
