The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the first production runs of new aerospace products, ensuring that they meet quality standards and specifications, and support on-time deliveries. This role involves collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, program management, materials, and operations team members to facilitate a smooth transition from development to production. This position requires a motivated and well-organized individual with strong communication and teamwork. Individual is expected to proactively manage their workload to minimize potential delays during the manufacturing process. This position falls within the scope of the FAA Drug and Alcohol program which includes a random testing program and successful completion of an FAA pre-employment drug screen. + Safety: Promote a Safety-First workplace, encouraging the identification and closure of opportunities for safety improvements. + First Production Oversight: Lead and execute the first production runs of new aerospace products, ensuring compliance with all specifications and quality standards. Provide full ownership of assigned programs’ manufacturing processes from start to finish. + Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to understand product designs and specifications, providing feedback on manufacturability and process improvements. + Process Development: Assist in the development and refinement of manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment to support new product introduction. Individual in this role will operate production, testing, and inspection equipment. + Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and tests on initial production batches to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications. + Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production processes, test results, manufacturing instructions, and quality assessments, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date. + Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve production issues, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions. + Transition Support / Training: Provide training and support to production personnel on new products and processes, ensuring a thorough understanding of quality and performance expectations. Develop and transition a fully documented, validated, and cost-efficient product/process to full-scale production through cross functional collaboration. + Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and solutions to enhance product quality and production efficiency. + Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and aerospace industry regulations. + Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. + Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, and with all levels of the organization. Required: + Associate’s degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience OR 5+ years relevant work experience OR relevant 4 year degree and 1 years related work experience + SAP knowledge + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings + Strong technical background and problem-solving abilities to handle multiple daily priorities to achieve results in a team environment + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively react to changing priorities + Overtime and Weekend availability based on program needs. May require temporary flex in schedule based on department needs. Preferred: + Experience with lean principles (Kaizen, TIB, Zero Defects) + Experience with manufacturing process (elastomer, bonding, assembly, etc) + Familiarity with Aerospace Product Development Process (i.e., LOP-288) + Familiarity/Completion of special process trainings This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
