Overview
The NPD Mechanical Engineer is responsible for driving the development of new platforms and/or projects, as well as collaborating with R&D during the early stages of the NPD process, focusing on tooling and equipment to ensure a smooth introduction to the assembly production line.
Experience and Education
University degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or similar).Experience in tooling and equipment design in assembly line environments (4 or more years).Experience in new equipment development and introduction (SOW, conception, procurement, validation, and implementation).Experience in the New Product Development process (stages and deliverables) is a plus.Knowledge, Skills, and Certifications
Bilingual (90% English and Spanish), both oral and written.Advanced computer-aided design skills using CATIA (other design software may be considered).Basic knowledge of automation, vision systems, and PLCs.Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stackup.Problem-solving skills.Knowledge of Project Management.Basic knowledge of SAP.Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.Soft skills (communication, negotiation, responsibility, analysis, optimism, creativity, teamwork, change management).Values aligned with the company.Main Duties and Responsibilities
