**📍** **Location & Travel:** Reston, VA (relocating to Fort Belvoir in 2026)

**⏰** **Shift Hours** **- Fixed schedule (no rotation between day and night shifts)**
- Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM / Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
**📅** **Work Schedule** **- Consistent weekly schedule (same days each week).**
- Option 1: Sunday – Tuesday and every other Wednesday
- Option 2: Thursday – Saturday and every other Wednesday
Intelligent Waves is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven **Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) Engineer** to support our mission-critical work for a government customer in Reston, VA. This role is part of a program that delivers enterprise-wide IT support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)’s Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD), consolidating, modernizing, and continuously innovating IT services and mission capabilities across CONUS and OCONUS environments.

**Responsibilities**
**Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) Support**
+ Provide 24x7x365 NOSC support in compliance with DoD directives and agency requirements.
+ Maintain real-time situational awareness of DTRA’s IT infrastructure and environments.
+ Lead restorative actions and triage efforts to ensure operational continuity.
+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and escalate service degradations and outages; manage resolution follow-through.
+ Communicate effectively with all levels of government and contractor leadership.
+ Coordinate and report incidents with vendors, DoD, and other government agencies.
+ Draft and distribute critical network outage notifications in accordance with SOP timelines.
**System & Network Administration**
+ Perform System Admin and Network Admin duties on Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret networks.
+ Monitor, troubleshoot, patch, and manage DTRA’s IT server, storage, and network infrastructures.
+ Ensure continuous, secure, and efficient access to infrastructure for DTRA partners and mission users.
+ Provide day-to-day IT systems administration to maintain operational reliability.
+ Manage Active Directory, including user accounts and security groups.
+ Deliver application support per SLA agreements across DTRA offices.
+ Utilize Remedy to create and manage incident tickets, tasks, work orders, and Smart Reports.
**Qualifications**
+ Active **DoD TS/SCI security clearance** required at the time of consideration
+ Active **Security+** or equivalent certification required prior to start
+ Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience in network operations, help desk, or IT support, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
+ Proficiency in network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and related protocols
+ Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Splunk
+ Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capability to produce clear procedural documentation and provide timely leadership updates
