As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will receive ample support, training and education, including knowledge of operating the latest, state-of-the-art processing equipment and sterilization tools and concepts.
**A caregiver in this position works days, from 7:00am-3:30pm for the first 90 days. Following the first 90 days, the schedule will be 8:00am-4:30pm, with rotational weekend and holiday requirements.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
+ Provide case care management.
+ Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals.
+ Perform preventative maintenance.
+ Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process.
+ Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure.
+ Perform record keeping.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) is required within 18 months after hire, unless an extension is granted at the purview of leadership
+ Can use the computerized instrument tracking system to perform assigned duties, including obtaining instrument count sheets, special handling instructions for instrumentation, documenting sterilization loads, and other tasks.
+ **OR** Military experience , such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ One year of Healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds.
+ Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds.
+ Possible exposure to biological and chemical contamination.
+ Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
+ Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
