The Role at a Glance
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Nighttime Houseperson Supervisor to join our team at Abigail Kirsch – Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, NY. This role is responsible for overseeing the evening operations of the Facilities team, ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standards for our events and guests.
As a Nighttime Houseperson Supervisor, you will lead and support the team to keep banquet rooms, public spaces, restrooms, and outdoor areas clean, safe, and well-maintained while working closely with the Facilities Manager to meet company goals and uphold our culture of excellence.
Schedule: Primarily evening event shifts (typically 3:00/4:00 PM – 11:30 PM/1:30 AM). Additional Hours: Daytime hours may be available during the week for event set-up, as well as maintenance work during slower weeks. Compensation: $20 – $25 per hour, based on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supervise and direct the nighttime House Staff and overall functions of the Facilities Department. Oversee setup, breakdown, and turnover of banquet rooms and event spaces according to schedules and event requirements. Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of: Public and guest restrooms Banquet rooms and facilities (carpets, chairs, AV equipment, dance floors, etc.) Grounds, walkways, driveways, and flower beds Linen and chemical storage rooms Perform regular walk-throughs to ensure all areas are safe, organized, and ready for events. Conduct and supervise weekly and monthly cleaning projects. Complete minor repairs as needed and report larger maintenance issues to management. Assist the House Staff directly when necessary to ensure timely completion of tasks. Manage and maintain proper use of daily and monthly checklists, SOPs, and logs. Open or close the building when needed, including securing keys and radios per policy. Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction. Support other Abigail Kirsch properties as needed.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience in a hotel, country club, conference center, or similar establishment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and guide team members. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment. Effective communication skills with associates, management, and vendors. Ability to multitask and delegate assignments efficiently. Flexible schedule to accommodate evening business needs and events. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors year-round. Must be able to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift/carry supplies as needed. Spanish language skills are a plus.
