The specialists at Indian River Hospital's 5N Oncology Unit treat even the most complex cancerous and noncancerous disorders with advanced technologies. As an RN in this team, you will join an encouraging and welcoming environment where every caregiver is celebrated for their role in enhancing patient care.
A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:45PM - 7:15AM, with every other weekend, one major holiday and two minor holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional NursingCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)One-year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experienceONS Chemo/Bio Course completion within one year of hirePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
