POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as an advocate for associates of UW Health by providing clinical and primary nursing care and case management services to associates whose capacity to perform their expected duties is impaired or at risk of being impaired due to injury or illness. Provides medical services including first aid and pre-employment, workers' compensation injury/illness, occupational health assessment, treatment and case management, workers' compensation mechanism of injury investigations.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal, written, organizational and customer service skills.
•
Must be able to read, write legibly and communicate effectively in English.
•
Strong phone etiquette skills.
•
Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels within the organization and community under varied conditions.
•
Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
•
Basic knowledge of data entry skills preferred.
•
Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Provides support to Nursing Unit, utilizing all necessary equipment and systems (i.e. CRT, printer, pneumatic tube) following established department procedures.
•
Orders and maintains supplies to provide an optimally functioning Unit.
•
Establishes and maintains a variety of complete, accurate and timely records for Unit according to established policies.
•
Coordinates Unit activities with other departments to enhance quality patient care and efficient operations.
•
Functions as a resource for all Unit staff on the proper operation of office equipment, providing assistance and training as necessary.
•
Provides input as requested to various committees and project teams.
•
Assists with coordination and provision of patient care delivery.
