NewsNation Senior Producer, Banfield
NewsNation seeks a Senior Producer to join the show team for NewsNation's Banfield. The senior producer will play a key leadership role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the daily program. Candidates should be strong editorial and control room leaders. The position is based at the network's studios in New York City. Duties & Responsibilities: •Assists anchor and executive producer in setting show's editorial direction •Helps build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programming •Coordinates the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors, and other staff •Copy edits scripts and content •Serves as a senior leader in the control room •Helps implement training and best practices for team •Provides ongoing mentoring and support to staff •Manage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teams •Acts as Executive Producer in his/her absence •Performs special projects and other duties as assigned Requirements & Skills: •Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field •Ten or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital) •Excellent writing and copy-editing skills •Segment or line producing experience •Strong organizational, and people skills are vital •The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who brings lots of ideas to the table • Flexibility with hours, as the news cycle and deadlines warrant • Experience with LexisNexis, ENPS would be valuable Salary Range: $125,000 - $160,000 Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
