FOX8 Full-time Director position
Key Responsibilities:
+ Direct and punch live and recorded newscasts and other programming using Ross Overdrive, ensuring seamless execution of rundowns.
+ Code, organize and execute newscasts and specials using ENPS based rundowns.
+ Coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions
+ Collaborate with news, production, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations and troubleshoot technical issues.
+ Lead pre-production efforts, including coding, shot blocking, automation setup, and equipment checks.
+ Ensure clean transitions between segments, graphics, and live elements by effectively managing production automation programs.
+ Adapt to last-minute changes and breaking news, making quick decisions and leading under pressure.
+ Willingness to learn other positions such as camera and audio, to increase collaborative understanding and fill-in as needed.
+ Ability to work a variety of shifts. This open position is for Weekend PM plus three Weekdays PM.
Qualifications:
+ Prefer candidate with two years’ experience in news operations and production (Depending on market size)
+ High school diploma
+ Fluency in English
+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
+ Working knowledge of newscast production and production workflow, as well as studio operations.
+ Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and without supervision while prioritizing assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
+ Familiarity with programs such as Ross Overdrive, Expression, Bit central and production switchers in general, is a plus
+ Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work with engineering teams to resolve production issues.
+ Excellent leadership abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
+ Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as news coverage demands
