WJAC is looking for a television production minded person to be part of the news and production team, directing live newscasts daily.  We have a new, modern set that is a canvas for creative storytelling with multiple visual elements.  Everyday we explore new ways to utilize this network quality set.  Our control rooms are being updated to a new Ross directing system.  We are looking for someone who likes to be challenged by news talent, producers and other directors to create the best visual newscast possible.

Responsibilities:

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

Direct (which is technical directing as well) any assigned newscasts and productions Maintain production studio and control room Edit video for newscasts Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned, which may include website contribution

Requirements:

Experience Directing and technical directing newscasts Knowledge of production standards and equipment, experience with Ross is a plus Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Ability to clearly give direction to talent and producers while under pressure Typing and good spelling skills necessary Ability to read and write, college degree preferred Must be able to lift & position 40 pound lighting instruments
