Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
KTLM Telemundo in McAllen, TX is seeking a Multiplatform Producer who can create news that appeals to both traditional Broadcast and new media audiences. The Multiplatform Producer will be responsible for successful coordination and execution of newscasts, special programs and digital content.
Functions/Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the overall production of daily news content, including special coverage, in-depth stories and other news-related segments for both newscast and online platforms.
+ Responsible for being a key communicator within the newsroom, coordinating closely with all team members contributing to the newscast to ensure cohesive and timely content delivery.
+ Must select stories, understand all the elements, and design a newscast that achieves the daily goal.
+ Execute Live Shots and Satellite Remotes during live newscasts by keeping a good communication with the crew in the field.
+ Select, assign, write, and organize news stories. Write headlines, teases, and reporter lead-ins.
+ Respond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy and have good time management skills.
+ Coordinate and plan future community and social story development.
+ Editing skills to edit video clips.
+ This position is a Dual roll between Broadcast and Digital platforms, the ideal candidate is responsible for publishing content on multiple digital platforms, including web, mobile, online social networks and streaming channels
+ Work closely with producers, Executive Producer and News Director on story/sweeps planning and coordination.
+ Contribute story ideas; participate in daily coverage decisions and editorial meetings.
+ Understand and follow all Telemundo News standards and ethics.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience working in a newsroom as a News Producer.
Eligibility Requirements:
+ Excellent news judgment, creative ideas and writing skills a must.
+ Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to cover other shifts and breaking news, to include holidays and weekends.

+ Must be 18 years or older.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record.

Additional Requirements:
Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
