Job Summary/Description:
KVVU, FOX5, the Gray-owned station in Las Vegas, has an opening for an anchor/reporter. The position will include anchoring and reporting each workday.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Generate strong story ideas and produce/report those stories for on-air and digital channels. All of our anchors also report.
- Perfect position for true journalists who prioritize reporting but also want regular time at the anchor desk.
- Daily anchoring is typically one hour per day, but can vary depending on assignment.
- FOX5 Las Vegas produces 16 hours of local news each weekday.
- Must be experienced in handling breaking news and live field coverage.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Three years of minimum experience as a reporter and anchor in a TV newsroom.
- Proven, demonstrated ability to conceive and pitch strong enterprise (original) story ideas that support the FOX5 "Local Las Vegas" brand.
- Strong writing and the ability to tell engaging stories through visual mediums are essential.
- College degree preferred, but not required.
