Job Description SummaryThe New Unit Spares (NUS) Parts Engineer provide technical support for the NUS projects during their ITO and OTR phase by defining part numbers for the descriptions appearing in the NUS contract or on the Customer's specific list, handling the engineering activities on the lines related to the NUS project in the Parts organization's ERPs and coordinating with the CM Services team, the NUS PM team and the customer representatives to keep the NUS project on track.Job Description
Support the NUS projects in OTR by defining the part numbers for the scope captured in NUS contract using the BoM of the actual unit, by handling undefined lines in the Parts business ERPs for extra scope of the NUS projects, and making part-to-unit verifications for certain items like GT capitals on Sales Order lines in the Parts business ERP
Coordinate the efforts of the CM Services team and the NUS PMs regarding the support of NUS projects in OTR
Cooperate with the customer facing team, or even the customers, to clarify what the Customer intended to be included in their special scope for the NUS project
The NUS Parts Engineer is expected to assess their load and ask for additional resources within CM Services - PGS team to cope with sudden spikes in the load.
Ability to read, interpret and comprehend technical documentation such as technical drawings, Bill of Materials, material specifications, electrical schematic diagrams, system block diagrams, and recommended spare part lists
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Must be fluent in Writing/Speaking/Reading in English
Ability to quickly and effectively learn business operating systems
Execute daily management of pending tasks
Ability to properly prioritize expected work and execute assigned tasks
Ability to work in a matrix environment
Ability to work in a cohesive, cooperative, and professional manner
Ability to communicate and integrate across functions within the business
Detail-oriented, organized, conscientious team player with strong sense of ownership
Product knowledge on leg-GE Heavy Duty technologies (GT, GEN, ST) and some leg-ALS STs, including their F2F portions, the auxiliaries, BOP and HRSG
Technical experience with part number definition based on description
What you’ll do
Support the NUS proposals in ITO (or pre-ITO) through refining the templates used by the NUS PMs to create the proposals with the help of the Configuration Management (CM) Services team, or defining part numbers to the Customer specific scope using the BoM of similar unitsSupport the NUS projects in OTR by defining the part numbers for the scope captured in NUS contract using the BoM of the actual unit, by handling undefined lines in the Parts business ERPs for extra scope of the NUS projects, and making part-to-unit verifications for certain items like GT capitals on Sales Order lines in the Parts business ERP

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering or MechatronicsAbility to read, interpret and comprehend technical documentation such as technical drawings, Bill of Materials, material specifications, electrical schematic diagrams, system block diagrams, and recommended spare part lists
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
