Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete new product development, portfolio maintenance and/or productivity projects with an emphasis on meeting the desired consumer experience.
**_How you will contribute:_**
With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with R&D, commercial and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct bench/lab and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements and development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation etc.). You will also write technical reports that will require the analysis and interpretation of results and that lead to conclusions and recommendations and create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications.

+ Food science, science, or engineering ideally in a fast-moving consumer goods market
+ Working on teams and independently with the guidance of a manager
+ Prioritizing and managing activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.)
+ Provide direction for product development, you will use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information
+ Identifying problems proactively and creating and implementing solutions independently
+ Applying fundamental technical understanding to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions
+ Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, including technical writing
+ To ensure overall compliance with Mondelēz International GMP and Safety standards

**What you need to know about this position:**
Candy category plays an important role in AMEA BGCM and as a Scientist in this category, you will play a critical role in partnering with cross functional teams in ANZ Business Unit and will have close working relationships to the Singapore Technical Centre Scientists and Engineers.
**Education / Certifications:**
Food Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, and related disciplines
**Job specific requirements:**
+ Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience, preferably in the food industry
+ Strong technical foundation and technical curiosity.
+ R&D product/process development experience and knowledge of gum and candy/confectionery are preferable
+ Ability to develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather, and analysis of data
+ Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with low and medium complexity
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams across multiple countries
+ Fluency in English both verbal and written
+ Strong communication skills
**Travel requirements:**
This role is based in Ringwood with frequent travel to Scoresby Manufacturing site and South Melbourne HQ
**Work schedule:**
Full time. This role will need to connect to Singapore Technical Team daily and will require some evening meetings when required.
No Relocation support available
