Position Summary
The New Accounts Analyst will be responsible for supporting daily operations by facilitating on-boarding, KYC, and AML processes required for opening new institutional accounts and updating existing accounts within Guggenheim Securities, LLC – a FINRA registered broker-dealer. Responsibilities include reviewing account documentation in accordance with legal and regulatory standards. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize workflow while examining materials submitted by both internal and external business partners. Coverage spans product areas such as Investment Banking (both domestic and international branches), Equities Sales & Trading, Derivatives, Fixed Income, and Syndication.
Essential Job Functions
Receive and process new account request from sales personnel, liaising directly with clients Screen customers against the OFAC SDN and other sanctions lists utilizing WorldCheck One, escalating positive screening outcomes to AML OfficerCoordinate with internal teams such as: AML Officer, Compliance Officer, FinOps, Business Controls, Legal, Sales & Trading Desk Supervisors, Risk and OperationsConduct research on various regulatory platforms for client information/verification in accordance with established policies and proceduresHandle trade-level documentation such as Options Agreements, Electronic Trading Agreements, QIB Certifications, etc.Review existing client files for completeness as specified by policies and proceduresFor Sales & Trading, utilize Pershing’s NetX360 to open client allocation accountsFacilitate Request for Information (RFI) from external Business Partners and clientsPerform suitability assessments for prospective Investment Banking Investors in accordance with Confidential Marketing policies and procedures Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies to fulfill onboarding and FinCEN requirements using proprietary technologyManage internal approvals and signoffs Participate in Ad hoc projects as assignedProvide evening and weekend support as requiredPreferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Know-Your-Customer, FinCEN and Broker-Dealer Rules and Regulations. As well as FINRA CAT & CAISPrior experience working in the financial services industry, with a background in documentation is preferredDemonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and assignmentsAbility to collaborate across product lines and effectively manage competing priorities through strong time management and problem-solving skillsHighly organized, detail oriented and thorough; ensuring all work processes are completed accurately and appropriatelyDemonstrates consistent professionalism in communication and can clearly articulate complex or problematic situationsStrong team player with a positive, collaborative attitudeProactive, able to anticipate needs, take initiative, operate independently, and recognize when escalation is necessaryAdaptable and able to respond effectively to changing situationsSkilled in reviewing and analyzing customer documentation and initiate appropriate follow-up actionsProficiency in Microsoft Suite with working knowledge of ExcelFamiliarity with: Pershing NetX360, Thompson Reuters WorldCheck One, LexisNexis and DocuSignBasic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience2-3 years’ experience in a KYC RoleMust successfully pass a background checkWork Location
Currently, this role will be remote with in office expectations for initial training period and as requiredSalary
Annual base salary between $80,000 and $95,000.The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.About Us:
