GENERAL DUTIES

Responsible for preparing and performing all phases of EEG:

Obtains an effectual neuro-medical and family history to assure an accurate diagnostic treatment of the patient.Prepares patients by accurate use of the 10-20-measurement system, scrubs and placement of electrodes within 25 to 35 minutes.Effectively records interpretable records (EEG’s), recognizing artifact, abnormalities and montages.Does record reviews and notifies the Lead EEG technician of stat recordings and gross abnormalities so that the Lead EEG technician can make physicians aware to patient’s neurologic status.

Responsible for preparing and performing all phases of Evoke Potentials:

Obtains an effectual neuro-medical and family history to assure an accurate diagnostic treatment of the patient.Prepares patients by determining which evoke is to be performed, properly setting preparing the patient and setting the patient up for said test.Performs test, reviews, notifies the EEG technician in-charge of stat recordings and gross abnormalities that the Lead EEG technician can make physicians aware of their patient’s neurologic status.

Transports equipment for bedside testing:

Transports all equipment needed for bedside testing and assist in upkeep of equipment by informing staff of equipment defaults.

Responsible for equipment of the department:

Maintains equipment by checking for loose screws, defective switches, cleaning of equipment and care of same.Notifies appropriate personnel of any and all equipment problems to ensure zero down time and any supplies needed.

Responsible for assisting with clerical duties:

Helps to schedule patients, answers phone, take messages, any other duties to facilitate in overall productive and efficient department.Prepares records for any phase needed, reports, filing, etc.Assists in keeping up to date in ordering necessary supplies for effective and efficient operation of the department.Performs other operational or administrative duties to support the operations of the EEG department as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience. ​
