Job Overview:

Performs a variety of duties relating to the administration of electromyography and nerve conduction study examinations. Knowledge of medical terminology. Able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, managers, and the public. Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on all machines used. Knowledge of departmental quality assurance programs, collects data. Implements policies and reports information in a timely manner to the department manager/director.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or GED Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceOne to two years of experience performing EMGs

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Basic Life Support with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pmPer Diem

Essential Functions:

Post-examination dutiesCopy and file EMG / NCV resultsAdministration of EMG and NCV examsPreparation of NCV and EMG examinationsLog patient's name and procedure performedInstructs patients on preparation and examinationsCoordinates scheduling of patient and examinationsPrepares equipment and gathers supplies prior to examPerforms maintenance checks and calibrates all machinesProvides administrative support and medical assistance when neededTakes patient history, prepares patient for the exam, operate equipment to administer examsPerforms other related duties as assigned
