**About This Role:**
Kinetics' team of Network Technicians are vital team members who represent our field operations that connects homeowners, small business, enterprise, and carrier partners across the United States. Our team of Network Technicians care about technology and connecting customers to products they value. Through providing technical expertise and customer support, our Network Technicians create meaningful connections with customers that create long-term relationships.
**What You’ll Do:**
+ Perform routine installation, maintenance, and repair activities for network systems including voice, data, network, transport, and video equipment
+ Present and conduct self in a professional manner; promotes positive company image to the public
+ Complete post installation tests for call processing functionality and AMA testing
+ Perform monthly routine maintenance tasks. Coordinates central office translations activities
**Do You Have?**
+ Basic understanding of telecommunications voice and data networks
+ Knowledge of computer hardware, software, components, and applications
+ Ability to distinguish colors in use of color-coded cable
+ Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
+ Capable of working aloft, climbing, bending, pulling, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
+ Effective communication and customer service skills
+ Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
+ Basic math and PC skills
+ Must successfully complete required safety training
+ Ability to work assigned schedules and extended hours including day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours, as well as to respond to after hour callouts
**Even Better:**
+ Experience installing, testing, and maintaining electrical and optical networking equipment. This includes voice and data with circuits ranging from DS0, T1, Gig ethernet, optical 1 Gig through 100Gig. Switching and transport hands on experience.
+ Computer skills including the use of GUI interfaces and console programs to communicate with switching and transport gear
+ Ability to understand drawings, schematics, material lists, and installation instructions
+ Fiber optic cable testing and trouble isolation experience using OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer)
+ Exposure to DC power plant and battery maintenance
+ Familiarity with Stand by AC power generator and system
+ Ability to work on-call status to respond to trouble issues after normal working hours
**Minimum Requirements:**
Associate Degree in a technical discipline and 2-3 years technical/telephony experience; or 4+ years of directly related telephony experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related telephony experience. This is a safety sensitive position.
