About the Role

We’re hiring a highly capable Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering team. Based in Manila, this role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in network security, firewall governance, and intrusion detection. You'll support the oversight and governance of our global firewall infrastructure using specialized tools (not direct firewall configuration) and help strengthen our detection and response capabilities through logging and monitoring platforms. This is a high-impact role, working closely with global teams and participating in off-hours support rotations.

Responsibilities

Drive firewall governance processes by reviewing and validating access requests through internal toolingEnsure compliance with security policies and help improve network segmentation standardsAnalyze and advise on firewall and access control changes across multiple environmentsMonitor IDS/IPS alerts, perform traffic analysis, and support detection tuning effortsUse platforms like Security Onion and other open-source/commercial tools to support visibility and monitoringCollaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams across regionsDocument decisions and technical recommendations clearly for both technical and governance audiencesParticipate in an off-hours support rotation for security escalations

Your Profile

5+ years of experience in Security Engineering, Network Security, or a closely related roleDeep understanding of network protocols, routing, segmentation, and firewall principlesSolid experience working with firewall technologies, especially in a governance or oversight capacityFamiliarity with IDS/IPS platforms, detection engineering, and alert triage workflowsHands-on experience with Security Onion or similar threat detection platformsClear and effective communication in English, both spoken and writtenSelf-starter attitude with the ability to operate independently in a distributed teamAvailability to support off-hours operations and incident response
